Bell’s Palsy

“I was diagnosed at the hospital with Bell’s Palsy, the doctor told me the facial paralysis could last 4-6 months and for some people forever. The only solution offered at the ER was a strong anti-inflammatory drug for 7 days. After 3 days and no improvement, it was recommended I try acupuncture. I was skeptical acupuncture could help the recovery process.

Through Victoria’s continued practice of acupuncture I started to have small improvements. My eyelid had quit working and my eye was dry to the point I thought my tear gland had quit working. My eyebrow had started to sag heavily onto the eyelid making it hard to see and blink. In one treatment I had tears running out of the side of my eye, and in another treatment the muscles were stimulated relieving the heaviness and allowing me to blink.

At first, the relief was short term but over time it continued to last longer. The course of treatment continued over a period of 9 weeks. During that time a 90% improvement was achieved. I believe acupuncture played a significant role in speeding up my recovery and I am grateful for Victoria’s help.“

Neuropathy

“I have been diabetic for 20 years, suffering much of that time from debilitating peripheral neuropathy in the feet – the type where pain comes in strong spasms about every 45 seconds and lasts all night long.

The medical doctor prescribed Gabapentin and later Lyrica both of which caused the side effect of leg swelling, and did not control the pain spasms.

I had no experience with Acupuncture but on the advice of a friend who has received many acupuncture treatments over the years, I made an appointment with Victoria for a consultation to discuss treating peripheral neuropathy with Acupuncture.

My treatment program began Oct 12, 2023 with a session once a week for 8 weeks; then once every other week for 6 weeks; and now since January 29, 2024 I am on a maintenance schedule of receiving a treatment once every 3 weeks.

I am now over 90% free from the pain of peripheral neuropathy having only an occasional twinge.

Improvement happened gradually over a 3 month period as my body learned to accept and respond to Acupuncture. 

I have deep gratitude to Victoria for her skill and patience and constant encouragement.

Pregnancy Carpal Tunnel and Gestational Diabetes

“I had acupuncture during my pregnancy and it helped ease the pain of carpal tunnel syndrome that developed in my second trimester. Victoria also used acupuncture to help regulate my glucose levels for gestational diabetes during the second and third trimester. I was able to stay off insulin and along with diet and exercise, my levels stayed in healthy range. She also did cervical ripening sessions during the last part of my pregnancy.
